About Telma

Telma is a leading mobile phone operator and Internet service provider in Madagascar. Who also offers a money transfer service via cellphone.

They provide prepaid and postpaid services along with 3G and 4G internet for their customers.

They have bi-lingual users who use French and English as their primary languages.

Our Challenge

Our task was to redesign their existing mobile app and make it easy for the customers to find and utilize the frequently needed services.

We helped them with UX strategy and to identify data points and navigational flows that help add value to the user experience.

We used typography and modern UI practices to bring this app to life. Additionally, we also suggested a brand refresh using an atomic approach for the main brand and the sub-products.

User is the hero

Following a user-centered approach, we designed the features and navigation focused on information and functions that are most frequently used- such as checking balance, usage of calls and internet, as well as sending money to friends & family and purchasing recharges.

A polished user experience

We gave a fresh look to the app, making it visually engaging and creating a positive emotional response in users.

Smart typography and clutter-free layout helped reduce cognitive load and made it easier for users to focus on the app’s main features and content.

Engagement through exploration

The new app made exploring new plans and options interesting and engaging with colorful imagery, smart typography and a clean layout.

Product Brand Refresh

A brand refresh was suggested in order to help modernize Telma’s brand image, as well as align the visual identities for the sub-products.

Logo & Visual Identity

We created a modular system that borrows shapes, colors and fonts from Telma’s refreshed logo.

All products and service logos now look consistent and follow a scalable structure for any future launches.

Design System

We modernized Telma’s existing color palette to work well on mobile devices, while staying true to the core yellow and deep green's color harmony.

Along with colors, we also offered guidelines and standards for typography and a library of reusable design components.
